Where exactly am I going??

Cottbus is in the eastern part of Germany - about two hours southeast of Berlin by train. It's also close to Leipzig, Dresden, Prague, and the Polish border. Its university, where I might take classes, has a crazy looking library (pic above). There's an annual film festival. It's the second biggest city in the state of Brandenburg, and their soccer team, which is in the 1st Bundesliga, has a very loyal following. It's often referred to as a "green" city, so there are a lot of parks and what not, especially around the Spree River. Many areas in Germany have regional dialects, and my professors tell me I might come home with a funny accent.

Hey Meg -- I am glad you got here and that you like Cottbus. I just spent some time in Dresden and was thinking of you driving by on the Autobahn. Enjoy your time, keep us all updated.
